Bringing Water to Duka Kalua: A Call for Easter Well Sponsors
As we commemorate #WorldWaterDay2024, the importance of access to clean water echoes globally, aligning with WorldHope Corps' mission of providing "Water as Life." Our journey since 2007 has led to over 85 wells drilled in Northern Malawi and a Water Store utility in Uganda. Now, our sights are set on Duka Kalua, a village in Mzimba, northern Malawi, in dire need of clean water.
This Easter season presents an opportunity for change. Despite their efforts, the villagers of Duka Kalua, numbering 725, have faced challenges in securing clean water. The nearest source, a contaminated stream, poses health risks, and their attempts to secure a borehole through official channels have been met with delays. Their resilience shines through, having raised 500,000 Malawi Kwacha (approx. $320 US) towards a Well Fund, yet they remain far from their goal.
We stand at a crucial moment to aid Duka Kalua. The cost of drilling a well is $10,500, a sum beyond their reach but possible through collective effort. Whether you are an individual, a church group, or part of a family trust, your contribution can make a tangible difference. We seek sponsors for the “Easter Well” to bring clean water to Duka Kalua, transforming lives and ensuring health.
Witness the present state of water access in the village through a video clip from Pastor Dennis Singini's visit, showcasing the community's need.
Join us in this mission. Share the campaign, contribute if you can, and together, let's bring clean water to Duka Kalua.
